As massage therapist we know how important it is for our clients to breathe while being worked on. It is also equally important that we are breathing while working on them. Breathing is at the core of everything. The trouble is that most of us aren't breathing much of the tme.

Most people are thinking and holding their breath. Conscious Connected Breathing or CCB is a simple breathing technique where the inhale is relaxed, open and full throughout the entire respiratory system, and the exhale is relaxed-both are connected one into the other.

The breath activates stored suppression in the body(cellular memory) and allows it to resurface back into conscious awareness in the form of energy patterns. At this point that which has been held in rejection(suppressed) now has the opportunity to be cradled in acceptance and intergrated(healed), creating a place of freedom from old patterns and perceptions and an opening up to more love and self-acceptance.

This can be a powerful and profound experience creating opportunities for processing fear, releasing anxiety, self-expansion,peak relaxation, and more. Being an effective therapist isn't just about what techniques you have to share with your clients. Even more is who you are; how present and clear you are as a person.

The greatest healing tool you bring to the table is YOU. The more connected you are to your breath, the more present you are. The more present you are the less you are a victim to your past and the future and the freer to be totally available to yourself and your client.
